Tohtori Indrek Seire on omistanut l\u00e4hes koko uransa ruoansulatuskanavan pahanlaatuisten sairauksien diagnosoinnille ja kirurgiselle hoidolle. H\u00e4nen erityisalueensa on endoskooppinen ja v\u00e4h\u00e4n invasiivinen kirurgia, jota h\u00e4n on yhdess\u00e4 kollegoidensa kanssa kehitt\u00e4nyt jatkuvasti viimeisen 20 vuoden ajan.<\/p>\n

Paksusuolen t\u00e4hystyskirurgian alalla tohtori Seire ja h\u00e4nen tiimins\u00e4 ovat saaneet my\u00f6s kansainv\u00e4list\u00e4 huomiota, ja he ovat saavuttaneet osaamiskeskuksen aseman.<\/p>\n

Vuosina 2019\u20132024 tohtori Seire johti aktiivisen kirurgisen ty\u00f6n ohella Viron suurinta endoskopiakeskusta Aluesairaalassa. N\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00f6n perustuvan hoidon lis\u00e4ksi tohtori Indrek Seiren pitk\u00e4aikaisena kiinnostuksen kohteena ovat olleet ruoansulatuskanavan kasvainten ennaltaehk\u00e4isy ja varhainen diagnostiikka. H\u00e4n on osallistunut aktiivisesti paksusuolisy\u00f6v\u00e4n kansalliseen seulontaohjelmaan sek\u00e4 endoskopistina ett\u00e4 puhemiehen\u00e4.<\/p>\n

2023. vuonna tohtori Seire aloitti Tarton yliopiston tohtoriopinnot tutkiakseen tarkemmin paksusuolisy\u00f6p\u00e4potilaidemme hoitopolkuja ja l\u00f6yt\u00e4\u00e4kseen ratkaisuja sy\u00f6v\u00e4n hoidon tilastollisten tunnuslukujen parantamiseksi.<\/p>\n

Tilastojen mukaan Virossa kuolee edelleen merkitt\u00e4v\u00e4sti enemm\u00e4n ihmisi\u00e4 paksusuolisy\u00f6p\u00e4\u00e4n kuin naapurimaissamme Suomessa ja Ruotsissa. Olemme my\u00f6s Euroopan keskiarvotulosten alapuolella.<\/p>\n
